When I first arrived at Blackhawk Company in July 2011 Staff Sergeant Rogne of 3rd platoon was one of the first people I met. He was quick witted but very insightful. He recently moved to Apache Company, another company in the 1-23 Infantry Battalion, but he's made some pretty big headlines lately. Here is the story from the Seattle Times. I never worked directly under SSG Rogne, but he's been a great role model for us younger guys. It also gives some great insight into the fight that is going on where we are located.
